UFC 114: Rampage Jackson Vs. Rashad Evans Will Be Poetry In Motion
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion, and budding Hollywood movie-star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, is ready to return to action on May 29 to finally face down the long-standing feud with arch nemesis, Rashad Evans.
Jackson has recently been starring in a movie remake of the popular, early-1980s action show, “The A-Team,” and nonetheless remains one of my all-time favorite UFC cagefighters. Read more…

UFC News: Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen Is Confirmed
Anderson Silva has been the name on everyone’s lips since his victorious five-round MMA cagefighting destruction over the extremely outclassed Damien Maia during last weekend’s UFC 112 event in Abu Dhabi.
Silva, during the match, did everything but the Muhammad Ali “shuffle” and the Roy Jones “bolo” punch, yet he somehow finished the job at hand, retaining his 185-pound UFC middleweight championship title.
“The Spider” also set a new UFC record for six title defenses in the process. Read more…

UFC 112 Report: Joe Rogan All But Confirms Georges St. Pierre Vs. Anderson Silva
The Spider is an amazing creature; his web is an architectural masterpiece of nature.
As an elite predator, he uses this webbed trap to its maximum potential to catch his tasty meal, which may include any or all unwary flying bugs that have, unfortunately, become a little too careless.
In the world of mixed martial arts, specifically the UFC, the world’s best pound-for-pound fighter, Anderson “The Spider” Silva, is also a predator—only of a different sort.
Yet he is one who, not unlike the insect of the same name, also uses traps, feints, and various counter-punching techniques to render his quarry helpless. Read more…

A Clash of Titans: Alistair Overeem Vs. Matt Rogers
If you are in the St. Louis, Missouri area on the weekend of May 15th, you might want to keep your kids indoors (especially all little girls, if you have seen the video of Alistair Overeem laying a vicious leg kick to a girl holding pads, which I should add, was set-up and all in fun!).
Two monstrous human specimens will do battle that weekend to determine the Strikeforce heavyweight champion! Brett “The Grim” Rogers (10-1) will do battle with current Strikeforce champion, Alistair “The Demolition Man” Overeem (32-11 MMA; 6-4 K1). Read more…

UFC 112: Renzo Gracie to Defend Family Legacy
On April 10th, 2010 Renzo Gracie will have the weight of the world on his shoulders as he steps into the Octagon against former two-time UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes.
Renzo Gracie is a BJJ expert and Gracie Barra black belt. He is a part of MMA royalty as a member of the Gracie family. On the night of UFC 112, he will fight for the family name.
The match has all the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster. The storyline is compelling and has a lot of history behind it. A feared and hated warrior conquered the beloved family members and students. Now one man is the last hope to avenge the family. Read more…

UFC 115: Jon Fitch vs. Thiago Alves Is On, Pat Barry vs. Cro Cop Rumored
With the announcement that the rescheduling of the postponed Jon Fitch vs. Thiago Alves bout will now be featured at the UFC 115 event in Vancouver, suddenly the show takes on new interest.
The much-anticipated—and continuously delayed—rematch between the welterweights was originally scheduled for UFC 107 in Memphis last December.
It then had to be rescheduled for UFC 111 in Newark on March 27 after Alves was forced to drop out due to suffering a torn posterior cruciate ligament in training. Read more…

UFC 116 Rumor: Randy Couture vs. Chuck Liddell IV?
According to Heavy.com scribe Jeremy Botter, there have been recent reports that the UFC is now contemplating a fourth in the trilogy of fights between Randy “The Natural” Couture, and Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell for UFC 116, in July of this year.
The middle-aged yet seemingly ageless 46-year-old MMA legend Couture has previously lost twice in the “Randy vs Chuck” trilogy.
“The Natural,” at the time, quite “naturally” felt that the two career setbacks should be his last. Read more…

UFC 112: Why BJ Penn Is “Invincible” at Lightweight
B.J. Penn will be back in action this month on April 10, as he once again puts his lightweight title on the line against game contender Frankie Edgar at UFC 112 “Invincible,” scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Penn is truly one of the world’s all-time greatest pound-for-pound cage fighters. Virtually “invincible” at lightweight, the 31-year-old Kailua, Hawaii, native and UFC champion has seemingly now also matured to his ultimate fighting prime. Read more…

UFC 113: Why Josh Koscheck Will Be Demolished by Paul “Semtex” Daley
Early last year, at UFC 95, the contrast in fighting styles between UFC welterweight perennial contender Josh Koscheck and his virtually unknown Brazilian opponent Paulo Thiago was clearly evident.
Still, nothing really seemed out of the ordinary; it was all simply “business at usual” for both competitors.
An early and ominous warning of what was about to take place was perhaps when Joe Rogan, the outspoken (and sometimes controversial, marijuana-smoking) UFC commentator, remarked that the stand-up game of Koscheck was far superior to Thiago’s. Read more…
